Router manufacturer in Saudi Arabia: 5G CPE routers assembled in Riyadh
Looking for a router manufacturer in Saudi Arabia? IK Semiconductor assembles network devices in Riyadh for telecom operators, internet service providers, device brands and distributors. 5G CPE routers for fixed wireless access are assembled on the Riyadh line under an OEM model: you bring the design and specification, and the line assembles, tests, loads the firmware and packages to it. Mesh Wi-Fi and ONT are also listed by the factory as available SKD product lines, ready for manufacturing partnerships, and a 5G MiFi line is planned.
Who this is for
| Buyer | Typical need |
|---|---|
| Telecom operators and their device teams | Customer-premises routers in the operator's brand, assembled in the Kingdom |
| Internet service providers and roll-out companies | A steady local supply of customer devices for fibre and fixed wireless connections |
| Device brands entering or growing in Saudi Arabia | A local assembly partner without building their own plant |
| Distributors and system integrators | Devices for tenders that carry local content requirements |
Router types and their status at the Riyadh factory
| Device | What it is | Status |
|---|---|---|
| 5G CPE | A router that brings 5G fixed wireless broadband into a home or business | Assembled on the Riyadh line at the SKD stage |
| Mesh Wi-Fi | A set of Wi-Fi units that work together to cover a whole home or office | Listed by the factory as an available SKD product line, ready for manufacturing partnerships; we confirm the fit for your device when we scope the programme |
| ONT | The optical network terminal at the customer end of a fibre (FTTH) connection | Listed by the factory as an available SKD product line, ready for manufacturing partnerships |
| 5G MiFi | A portable, battery-powered 5G hotspot | Planned line; register your interest |
5G CPE manufacturing in Saudi Arabia: the device family in detail
What happens on the Riyadh line
At the current SKD (semi-knocked down) stage, partly built sub-assemblies are completed in Riyadh. For a 5G CPE programme the line:
- Inspects incoming parts. Components and sub-assemblies are checked before they reach the line.
- Completes the assembly. Sub-assemblies are fitted into the finished device.
- Loads your firmware. The firmware image you specify is loaded on the line.
- Tests to your specification. The RF specification decides what is tested on every unit rather than on a sample.
- Applies your branding and packaging. Both are agreed for each programme.
- Checks finished products. Quality control covers finished devices as well as incoming components.
How the factory is set up
- Who runs it: IK Semiconductor (Interkey Semiconductor) is an Interkey group company in Riyadh. It is open to all manufacturers of network devices and is not tied to one brand.
- How it was built: to the specification of a partner factory that specialises in network products such as CPE and ONT, with standard operating procedures replicated from it, and supervision and knowledge transfer from the partner's team. The line is operated by Saudi staff working with the partner's team.
- How the line is watched: AI-driven vision monitoring for access and ESD compliance, safety governance and operational discipline.
- Management systems: ISO 9001 (quality), ISO 14001 (environment) and ISO 45001 (occupational health and safety) certificates held by IK Semiconductor.
- Roadmap: SKD production since Q4 2025. CKD, with circuit-board assembly (SMT and DIP), is planned for 2028. ODM (in-house design) is the long-term aim.
IK Semiconductor assembles devices. It does not fabricate chips.
How to choose a router manufacturer in Saudi Arabia
- Device fit: does the line assemble your device type today, and at which stage?
- Test coverage: which tests run on every unit (RF, Wi-Fi, firmware version) and which on a sample, and who provides the test fixtures?
- Firmware control: how is the firmware image loaded, recorded and changed?
- Type approval: who holds the conformity certificate for the finished device, and does moving the build to Riyadh trigger re-qualification?
- Certificates: which management-system certificates does the factory hold, and do they cover your programme?
- Local content: which steps of the work take place in the Kingdom? The score itself is assessed under LCGPA's methodology.
- Contract: ownership of the design, firmware and test fixtures, change control, and what happens when the programme ends.
Questions buyers ask
Do you sell routers to individuals?
No. IK Semiconductor assembles devices for companies running a device programme: operators, service providers, device brands, distributors and integrators.
Can you build a router to our own design?
Yes. IK Semiconductor accepts OEM requests. You provide the design and specification, and the Riyadh line builds to them.
Can the routers carry our brand?
Yes. Branding and packaging are agreed for each programme. OEM and white label routers in your brand
Do you assemble mesh Wi-Fi routers?
Mesh Wi-Fi is one of the factory's SKD product lines, ready for manufacturing partnerships. Send us the device specification and volumes, and we will confirm how the line fits your programme.
Do you assemble the circuit boards?
Not today. SMT and DIP board assembly come with the CKD stage, planned for 2028.
Is there a minimum order?
No fixed figure is published. Volumes, price and lead time are quoted for each programme.
