Routers in your brand · Assembled in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
OEM and white label routers in your brand, assembled in Saudi Arabia
An OEM router or a white label router is sold under the brand of the operator, service provider or company that offers it, while a manufacturing partner builds it. IK Semiconductor assembles network devices in Riyadh under an OEM model: you bring the design and specification, the line assembles, tests and loads the firmware you specify, and branding and packaging are agreed for each programme. This page explains the terms, what you define for a branded programme, and what the Riyadh line does today.
OEM router, white label and private label: what the terms mean
| Term | Who owns the design | What carries your brand | Typical buyer |
|---|---|---|---|
| OEM router | You, or the device vendor you license it from | The device and its packaging | Operators and brands with their own device specification |
| White label router | The original designer of the device | The device and its packaging | Operators, service providers and distributors who want a proven device in their own brand |
| Private label router | Usually the original designer | The device and its packaging | Often used as another name for white label |
| ODM router | The manufacturer, which designs the device for you | The device and its packaging | Buyers who want the manufacturer to design the product |
At IK Semiconductor, programmes run on the OEM model. ODM, where the factory designs the device, is its long-term aim.
What you define for a branded router programme
A branded programme goes smoothly when these points are settled in writing before the first build:
- Device and source of the design: the device type, and who owns or licenses the design and the firmware.
- Brand assets: logo files, colours and artwork for the device and the box, and who approves the proofs.
- Label content: product name, model number, regulatory marks and serial-number format.
- Firmware: the image to be loaded, how versions are controlled and who approves a change. The content of the firmware is set by the design owner.
- Packaging: box design, box contents, printed material and shipping cartons.
- Tests and acceptance: what is tested on every unit, and a written definition of a unit you will accept.
- Volumes and variants: monthly and total volumes, and any regional or channel variants.
- Contract terms: ownership of the design, firmware, artwork and test fixtures, change control, and what happens when the programme ends.
What the Riyadh line does for a branded programme
At the current SKD (semi-knocked down) stage, partly built sub-assemblies are completed in Riyadh. For a branded programme:
| Step | What happens |
|---|---|
| Incoming inspection | Components and sub-assemblies are checked before they reach the line |
| Assembly | Sub-assemblies are completed into the finished device |
| Firmware loading | The firmware image you specify is loaded |
| Testing | Units are tested to your specification; the RF specification decides what is tested on every unit rather than on a sample |
| Branding and packaging | Applied as agreed for the programme |
| Final quality control | Finished devices are checked before they leave the line |
Board-level assembly (SMT and DIP) comes with the CKD stage, planned for 2028. IK Semiconductor does not fabricate chips.
Devices you can bring to a branded programme
| Device | Status |
|---|---|
| 5G CPE (fixed wireless access router) | Assembled on the Riyadh line at the SKD stage |
| Mesh Wi-Fi | Listed by the factory as an available SKD product line, ready for manufacturing partnerships; we confirm the fit for your device when we scope the programme |
| ONT (fibre to the home) | Listed by the factory as an available SKD product line, ready for manufacturing partnerships |
| 5G MiFi | Planned line; register your interest |
What happens after you send an enquiry
- Fit check. We compare your device and volumes with the line-up and the current stage of the line.
- Technical agreement. The specification, the tests, the firmware to load, the branding, the packaging and the acceptance criteria are agreed in writing before the first build.
- Contract. Ownership of the design, firmware, artwork and test fixtures, and change control, are set out in the contract.
- First build. The first units are checked against the agreed acceptance criteria before volume production starts.

Questions buyers ask
What is the difference between an OEM router and a white label router?
An OEM router is built to the design and specification of the company that sells it. A white label router is an existing design sold under the buyer's brand. In both cases a manufacturing partner assembles the device.
Do you take OEM requests from any brand?
Yes. IK Semiconductor accepts OEM requests and is open to all manufacturers of network devices.
Can you change the firmware settings or the web interface for our brand?
The line loads the firmware image you specify. Tell us what your programme needs from the firmware, and we will discuss it when we scope the programme.
Is there a minimum order?
No fixed figure is published. Volumes, price and lead time are quoted for each programme.
Does the factory design routers?
Not today. Designing devices for clients (ODM) is IK Semiconductor's long-term aim.
Do branded routers assembled in Riyadh count toward local content?
Local content is measured under the Local Content and Government Procurement Authority's methodology, not declared by the supplier. How the local content certificate works
